蔡英文總統提出了史上最綠、最糟、最酬庸的監察委員名單，中國國民黨身為負責任的最大在野黨，責無旁貸，一定要為台灣人民擋下。面對民進黨完全執政後充滿權力的傲慢以及採取雙重標準對待政治對手和自己過去言行，本黨立法委員不得已只能採取以封鎖議場入口、控制主席台的方式抗議，要求蔡總統撤回提名。
立法院是全民的立法院，議場是立法委員展現民眾意志的場域。但在國民黨抗議的過程中，民進黨的立院高層指揮警察，阻止媒體進入議場採訪、禁止記者進入議場二樓拍攝，不僅踐踏了新聞自由，也剝奪了廣大的人民有知的權利。過去立院沒有封鎖媒體與阻擋記者採訪的先例，此次民進黨膽敢大開民主倒車，背後所透露的可怕心態正是，只有民進黨所認可的新聞，才允許公諸於世與被報導，這難道就是民進黨主政之下的民主自由？
雖然民進黨立委能憑藉手中的油壓剪破門進入議場，卻剪不斷國民黨對於專制政府的沉重抗議；民進黨立委的粗暴架離舉動，包括鎖喉強勒洪孟楷委員，反而讓台灣民眾見證一黨獨大的自大與傲慢。中國國民黨將堅持到底，以實際行動，來捍衛台灣的民主與自由，並會無畏地繼續和人民站在一起，對抗民進黨蔡英文政府的多數暴力與不公不義。
至於總統府宣稱國民黨把民主當人質、陳菊宣稱杯葛她就是在阻礙國家發展，但真正的民主，就是沒有任何一個人，包括陳菊，可以代表整個國家的發展，或是代表整個民主的價值。而總統府自稱廢除考監兩院是執政黨長期主張，但如今卻塞入大量親綠人士政治酬庸，無視憲法明定監察委員必須超出黨派依法獨立行使職權的規定，罔顧監察院的獨立性與公正性，這種完全執政就綁架民主的雙重標準讓台灣民主蒙羞。
When Democracy is Reduced to Ochlocracy 2020.07.01
President Tsai continues to unscrupulously reward her political lackeys with her partisan nominations to the Control Yuan, which are the most biased in history. We the KMT, as the largest opposition party, must prevent this partisan power grab. Once in power, the DPP has continuously displayed undue contempt towards other political parties, and consistently adopts double standards when their actions are questioned. Worse yet, the DPP entirely refuses to communicate with their colleagues in other parties. Thus, KMT legislators were left with no choice but to resort to blocking the entrances to the Legislative Chambers and occupying the speaker podium in protest of the partisan nomination list that we have so strongly urged President Tsai to withdraw.
The Legislative Yuan belongs to the people. It is where elected lawmakers represent and express the will of the people. However, during the protest, the DPP ordered the police to block the media from entering, an unprecedented act of censorship. This unprecedented censorship has laid bare the DPP’s authoritarian tendencies. Does this mean that only news approved by the DPP is to be reported? Is this the so-called “democracy” that the DPP strives for?
Further exhibitions of authoritarian tendencies include DPP legislators’ merciless acts of violence, including the brutal chokehold of a young lawmaker. The KMT is determined to stand with the people and uphold Taiwan’s democracy and freedom. We will not cave into the ochlocracy, dictatorship, and censorship of President Tsai’s government.
The Presidential Office has falsely accused the KMT of holding democracy hostage. Chen Chu has also similarly accused us of obstructing national development. However, we the KMT emphasize that real democracy and national development do not mean hoarding power in one party, as the DPP continues to do.
The Presidential Office has, in the past, called for the abolishment of the Examination Yuan and the Control Yuan numerous times. Now, it has reversed course and is instead disregarding the necessary impartiality of the Control Yuan by nominating a number of DPP lackeys in an attempt to monopolize it. Once again, the DPP has exhibited authoritarianism while it continues to undermine Taiwan’s core democratic values.
