美方支持符合台灣利益的兩岸方案，國民黨表示歡迎
針對美國務院聲明敦促北京停止對我國的軍事、外交和經濟施壓，並應與我國「民選代表」(democratically elected representatives)進行有意義的對話，中國國民黨今(24)日表示，美國民主黨政府仍秉持過去四十多年的兩岸架構，以臺灣關係法、六項保證、三公報為基礎，鼓勵兩岸對話。美國總統拜登的團隊從去年底即開始表態支持符合台灣人民最佳利益的兩岸方案，國民黨表示歡迎。
至於共機密集襲擾台灣鄰近空域，國民黨呼籲，農曆新年將屆，解放軍應有所收斂，不要造成台灣地區人民的不安。國民黨強調，中共當局應認知，兩岸關係的結，雙方均有責任，應由政治途徑和平解決，不會因共機進入我防空識別區(ADIZ)而解；希望兩岸執政者均以人為本、以兩岸人民利益為先，得民心才是王道。
KMT Welcomes US Support of Cross-Strait Plan in Line with Taiwan’s Interests
On January 23rd, the United States (US) Department of State issued a statement urging Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic and economic pressure against the Republic of China (ROC) and instead engage in meaningful dialogue with the ROC’s democratically elected representatives. In response to this statement, the Kuomintang (KMT) today (January 24th) would like to express its welcome of the US Democratic Party government’s continued preservation of the cross-Strait framework of over forty years and utilization of the Taiwan Relations Act, the Six Assurances, and the Three Communiqués as foundations to encourage bilateral talks. The KMT further welcomes the declarations of support US President Biden’s team has been making since late 2020 for a cross-Strait plan in line with the Taiwanese people’s best interests.
As for the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force’s intensive harassment of the airspace nearby Taiwan, the KMT calls upon the PLA to exercise some restraint, especially with Chinese New Year approaching. The PLA must not cause instability for the people of the Taiwan region. The KMT emphasizes that the Chinese Communist authorities should be cognizant that regarding the ties of cross-Strait relations, both sides are equally responsible and should peacefully resolve issues by means of political channels. Nothing will be resolved by PLA Air Force aircraft intruding into the ROC air defense identification zone. The KMT hopes that the authorities on both sides of the Taiwan Strat prioritize the people and interests of the people on both sides of the Strait. Truly virtuous rule stems from acquiring the will of the people.
