陸日釣魚台水域對峙 國民黨呼籲雙方克制
針對中國大陸在通過《海警法》後，海警船與日本海上保安廳於釣魚台列嶼周邊水域對峙事件，中國國民黨提出以下聲明。
第一，國民黨認為，無論是中國大陸或日本政府均應自我克制，不升高對立及武裝行動，避免危及區域的和平與穩定。
第二，國民黨強調，無論是從歷史文獻，或是以地理與法理觀之，釣魚台列嶼主權歸屬於中華民國，此事實毋庸置疑。
第三，釣魚台列嶼附近水域也是我方漁民重要作業地點，民進黨政府不該自我噤聲、消極無為，而應堅持「主權在我、擱置爭議、和平互惠、共同開發」之立場，以實際行動捍衛我國的主權與漁權。
第四，民進黨政府應積極向國際社會重申我國和平主張釣魚台列嶼主權，切勿只會將中華民國護照的「Republic of China」象徵極小化，以及在海巡署艦隻外加塗「Taiwan」，卻不敢在釣魚台議題展現真正愛台灣、顧漁權、護主權的行動與決心。

Islands
KMT Calls for Restraint on Both Sides
The Kuomintang (KMT) issues the following statements regarding the confrontation in the waters near the Diaoyutai Islands between the “China Coast Guard” and the Japan Coast Guard:
First, the KMT believes that mainland China and the Japanese government should both exercise self-restraint, so as to not escalate antagonistic military operations, and to avoid jeopardizing the peace and stability of the area.
Second, the KMT emphasizes that whether from historical records or from the perspectives of geography and legal principle, sovereignty of the Diaoyutai Islands, without a doubt, falls under the jurisdiction of the Republic of China.
Third, the waters in the vicinity of the Diaoyutai Islands are also an important location for the work of our fishermen. The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) should not silence itself and sit idly by. It should instead insist on the position of “Safeguarding Sovereignty, Shelving Disputes, Pursuing Peace and Reciprocity, Promoting Joint Development” and defend the Republic of China’s sovereignty and rights of our fishermen with concrete action.
Fourth, the DPP government should proactively reiterate to the international community that the Republic of China peacefully asserts the sovereignty of the Diaoyutai Islands. The DPP government should unequivocally not merely miniaturize the words “Republic of China” on the Republic of China passport and paint “Taiwan” on Coast Guard Administration ships; meanwhile on the Diaoyutai Islands issue, it hesitates to show true love for Taiwan, hesitates to defend fishermen’s rights, and hesitates to protect our sovereignty with action and determination.
