江主席致函祝賀美國拜登總統就任 強調雙邊合作與堅持兩岸對話
中國國民黨江啟臣主席在本（2）月初已透過美國在台協會（AIT）轉交親筆簽名祝賀信給美國拜登總統。江主席在去年11月8日已透過推特祝賀拜登當選，此次為拜登總統就職後的正式祝賀。
江主席在信中強調，國民黨支持美國作為亞太和平穩定的捍衛者角色，也期待中華民國與美國能夠持續強化兩國間的互惠、合作與夥伴關係。
江主席表示，國民黨將致力於台海的和平與穩定，呼應美方鼓勵兩岸展開建設性對話的立場，並在平等互惠的原則下進行，因為此舉不僅可減緩兩岸緊張態勢、促進互信，也符合美國的根本利益。
江主席也藉此信向拜登總統表達對美國新冠肺炎逝者的哀悼之意，並表示他相信在拜登總統的領導下，美國定能早日戰勝疫情。
Chairman Chiang Sends Congratulatory Letter to President Biden
Emphasizes Taiwan-US Cooperation, Importance of Cross-Strait Dialogues
Kuomintang (KMT) Chairman Chiang Chi-chen sent a signed congratulatory letter to United States (US) President Biden through the American Institute in Taiwan. Chairman Chiang had already congratulated President Biden last year on November 8th via Twitter. This letter, however, was an official congratulatory letter sent after Biden’s presidential inauguration.
In the letter, Chairman Chiang emphasized that the KMT supports the US to play the role of defender of peace and stability in the Asia Pacific region. He also looks forward to the ROC and the US further strengthening reciprocal collaboration and partnership.
Chairman Chiang stated that the KMT will strive for peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and, echoing the US stance, will strive to resume constructive cross-Strait dialogue. This dialogue must be held under the principles of parity and reciprocity, because these principles will reduce cross-Strait tensions and promote mutual trust. These outcomes are also in the interest of the US.
Last but not least, Chairman Chiang also sent his condolences to the American lives lost due to COVID-19. He believes that the US will subdue the coronavirus under President Biden’s leadership.
