台鐵重大事故 國民黨對逝者致哀、盼傷者早日康復
清明連假的第一天，正值國人返鄉、出遊期間，台鐵太魯閣號408車次列車，在花蓮清水隧道發生出軌意外，造成慘重傷亡。中國國民黨對事故中罹難者及家屬表達深切哀悼，並期盼傷者早日康復，也對所有參與援救人員的辛勞表達敬意與謝意。
國民黨除了為傷者祈福，也將督促運安會完整調查、究責改善，預防再次發生類似的重大交通事故。
The KMT mourns the victims of the recent tragic train crash
On the busy Tomb Sweeping Day, most Taiwanese went back to their hometown to show respect to their ancestors. However, on the first day of the long national holiday, Train 408 from Taiwan Railroad derailed in a tunnel, killing at least 50 people and causing hundreds of others to be injured. The KMT mourns the death and hopes that the people who were injured recover soon. The party appreciates the hard-working rescue team who have devoted their effort to the rescue operations.
As an opposition party, the KMT also urges the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board to complete the investigation and look into the relevant liabilities of the accident to prevent a such tragedy from happening again.
