盼香港的言論與新聞環境能永保自由
據報導，香港蘋果日報預定於明(24)日發行最後一份報紙後停止運作，告別26年的經營。對此，中國國民黨文傳會今(23)日表示，希望香港的言論與新聞環境能永保自由，無論該報的辦報風格與言論走向是否符合一般大眾期許，其在法律範圍內的言論自由應受保障。
文傳會指出，在蘋果日報於香港創刊、隨後擴展到台灣的過程中，的確為兩地的媒體輿論環境注入活水，增加了港台社會的多元性，成為監督當權者不可或缺的一股力量。文傳會不贊同任何人或組織未經正當程序，便迫使報紙停刊，因為輿論環境的健康發展，靠的是真正的自由，讓不同立場的媒體在法律界限內相互競爭以提供民眾選擇，而不是靠政府直接介入或施壓。
文傳會強調，國民黨與時俱進，對於言論自由的態度與立場始終一致，不僅反對民進黨政府破壞新聞自由，以極為「雙標」的手法取消中天新聞台的電視執照，刻意削弱監督政府的力量，也同樣關心香港媒體的言論自由。
文傳會勸告港府，即便再怎麼不認同蘋果日報的言論，也要讓媒體發揮第四權的功能、暢所欲言，才能探查民意向背，並針對被披露的問題做出檢視或對症下藥，確保香港長治久安。
May Speech and the Media of Hong Kong Forever Be Free
The Hong Kong-based Apple Daily is said to have suspended operations after the publication of its final edition on June 24th. The KMT Culture and Communications Committee (KMTCCC) on June 23rd opined that regardless of whether the fashions and styles of media match the opinions and expectations of the general public, freedom of expression within the legal boundaries should be guaranteed, hoping that the speech and media of Hong Kong should continue to be free in perpetuity.
KMTCCC points out that in the process of the Hong Kong-founded Apple Daily’s expansion into Taiwan, this paper brought new energy into the media and public discourse, strengthened the social diversity of Taiwan and Hong Kong, and became an irreplaceable force in checking those in power.
KMTCCC disapproves of any individual or organization that forcefully suspends media outlets without due process. Real freedom is vital to establishing a heathy public opinion ecosystem, enabling media with different perspectives to compete and offer choices to the public within legal boundaries, without suffering from the pressure or interference of government authorities.
KMTCCC emphasizes that KMT’s stance on freedom of speech remains undaunted. Not only has the KMT firmly opposed the DPP’s reckless destruction of press freedom, which through its outrageous actions and double-standards closed down CTi News, attempting to weaken the checks and balances on power, but the KMT will also apply the same attitude and express the same concerns toward press freedom in Hong Kong.
KMTCCC urges that, regardless of how much the Hong Kong authorities disagree with Apple Daily, the media must be allowed to continue functioning as the fourth estate of checks and balances. Allow all speech to be freely expressed so that the will of the people can be heard, problems and issues uncovered, solutions discovered, and eventually the peace and prosperity of Hong Kong preserved.
