KMT Department of Youth Affairs Holds “Internet Celebrity Youth Camp”

The Kuomintang (KMT) Department of Youth Affairs held an “Internet Celebrity Young People’s Camp” on August 12th, inviting Chairman Johnny Chiang, Broadcasting Corporation of China (BCC) Chairman Jaw Shaw-kong, Institute of Revolutionary Practice Director Lo Chih-chiang, Culture and Communications Committee Director-General Alicia Wang, Culture and Communications Deputy Director-General Steve Chao-hsin Cheng, Nuclear Myth Busters founder Huang Shih-hsiu, Department of Youth Affairs Director Chen Kuan-an to all participate together. They connected with the thirty Young Blue Fighters who arrived from all parts of the nation and represent all walks of life. They hope that by means of initiating mobilization of the “Blue Fighters,” they can call upon Blue leaning allies, irrespective of age, place of residence, or occupation, to bravely step forward together, oversee the ruling party, and improve our nation.

Director Chen Kuan-an of the Department of Youth Affairs stated that under Chairman Jaw Shaw-kong’s original call for action, the number of people who signed up for this “Internet Celebrity Youth Camp” shot up considerably; in just a week, nearly 200 people have signed up. The backgrounds of those who signed up are also exceptional; they not only include young political workers, but they also include young lawyers, college professors, businesspeople, engineers, performing artists, and allies from many other professions. Even college freshmen who just turned eighteen responded.

The KMT Department of Youth Affairs pointed out that this fervent response to “Blue Fighters” from the younger generations proves that the KMT has already climbed out of the hole it was in last year, with high morale and in anticipation of the challenges of next year’s elections. Chen Kuan-an said that the Department of Youth Affairs will act as the utmost supporter of our young allies. This Internet Celebrity Young People’s Camp is just the start; the Department is also currently planning “N+1,” “More Youth Rights,” and other relevant programs to help young people win elections. The Department is even planning to establish a “Challenge Difficult Electoral Districts Program” to directly enlist young allies to engage difficult electoral districts and help the KMT develop new voter bases. This will provide a smoother path for younger KMT generations involved in politics; it will not be like in the past, when obstructions were met even within the party.

Chen Kuan-an predicts that this Internet Celebrity Young People’s Camp will be merely the first step in assembling the Blue Fighters. In the future, by means of academic training, resource supplies, collaboration on different issues, and community events, the Blue Fighters will provide a stage for allies to shine. Hopefully, with the energy of the first generation of Young Blue Fighters, even more young allies will heed the call, the team will become even bigger, and everyone will fight together and give it their all.
